Racing

Everything you need to go from curious to competing — gear, classes, practice, and your first race day.

Step One

Choose Your Class

SSR runs a full progression ladder — from 4-year-olds in karts all the way up to high-speed Legends Cars. Find the class that fits your age and experience and start there.

Champ Karts
  • ▸ Mighty Mites — Ages 4–8
  • ▸ Jr. Champ — Ages 8–12
  • ▸ Sr. Champ — Ages 12+
  • ▸ Pro Sr. Champ — Ages 12+
Moving Into Cars
  • ▸ Bandoleros — First race car, ages 8–15
  • ▸ Legends Cars — High-speed, ages 12+
  • ▸ Legacy Cars — 3/4-scale stock cars, all ages

Step Two

Get Equipped

SSR can point you in the right direction for sourcing a kart or car, and our technical staff can advise on approved safety gear. If you're not sure where to start, just ask — we've helped hundreds of first-timers get set up.

Vehicle
  • ▸ Kart or race car (SSR can help guide sourcing)
  • ▸ All engines are sealed by SSR or INEX — no engine building required
Safety Gear Required
  • ▸ Helmet (rated)
  • ▸ Racing suit
  • ▸ Gloves & racing shoes
  • ▸ Neck restraint / collar
Track Communication
  • ▸ Transponder pouch — transponders are currently provided by SSR
  • ▸ Raceceiver radio — required to receive flagman and race control communications

Step Three

Practice & Learn

Before your first race you'll want seat time. SSR offers multiple ways to get comfortable on track and build the fundamentals that make racing safe and fun.

On-Track Time
  • ▸ Open practice sessions throughout the season
  • ▸ Private track rental available
Development & Safety
  • ▸ Driver coaching and mentorship available
  • ▸ Tech inspection at every event — enforces safety standards and class parity

Race

SSR runs a full points championship from March through October. Show up, compete clean, and earn your place on the podium.
